There are two types solar alarm lamp. one is single direction alarm lamp, another is double directions alarm lamp. What is the difference? How to install PIR and Door Contact for home security
Infrared detector is popular motion sensor. The PIR is used for security protection of bed rooms, living room, balcony etc. It is installed with bracket for angle adjustment. The detection area may be horizontal 110 degree, thickness 65 degree of fan-shaped area.
Can you install the PIR according to the instruction manual? Below we will make clearer steps for guidance.
Step1. Using impact drill to make two holes on the wall according to PIR bracket fixing hole. Then fix PIR bracket with screws (included in the PIR package)
If there is no impact drill, using cement nail to fix the bracket on the wall.
Step2. Insert the PIR body to the universal bracket. The PIR level angle and vertical angle can be adjusted for best detection.
It is better to install PIR in the corner of wall to get best protection area. Select installation location, installation height according to PIR instruction manual. Below is the illustration of installation ways and effect.
Door magnetic contact is another essential component of home security. Door contact includes two parts: magnetic switch and emitter. When these two parts are separated by about 1cm, the emitter will send alarm signal to siren strobe or alarm control panel. Magnetic contact can be used for alarm of door windows, fence or other protected objects.
The emitter should be installed on fixed object such as the door frame. The magnetic switch should be installed on moving object such as door. If the door and the door frame is not at the same plane, you can use a small piece of wood to block up the low side.
There are metal door contact, wood door contact and rolling door contact. Please select corresponding door contact for the door security protection. You can use double faced adhesive tape to fix the door contact or use screw to fix the door contact. It is better to use screw fix it.

PIR Passive Infrared Detector installing notice
Passive infrared detector PIR is a type of weak signal detection equipment. There are some notices for attention when install it. For example, the installing height and sensitivity are two key points for attention. There are three steps to prepare and install a PIR detector.
Step 1: Well understand the performance characteristics of the PIR detector.
Step 2: Correctly determine the location for PIR detector installation.
Step 3: Carefully adjust and debug the infrared detector.
Below is the details for attention.
A. Installing location:
1. Determine the correct installing height and angle according to PIR installing instruction manual and using requirement, environment. The protection area, sensitivity and pet immunity effectiveness is different with different installing height. Find out the entrance and exit of the building and intrusion routine, install the detectors at places to cover the areas.
2.Do not install the PIR detector facing glass doors and windows.
PIR detector can anti interference of white light but not 100%. And outdoor passing people and vehicle may cause false alarm. PIR and MW double technology detector can be installed at this place without interference.
3. Do not install the PIR detector facing cold and hot air outlets or cold and heat sources.
PIR detector senses object’s temperature change and triggers alarm. So the air flowing from cold or heat outlet may cause false alarm. If you have to install the detector at these places, you can choose PIR and MW double technology detector.
4. Do not install the PIR detector facing a swinging object. A swing object may cause false alarm by Microwave detector as well.
B: Detector choosing and debugging
1.Correct choosing of detector.
There are various types of PIR detector. They are wide angle PIR or curtain PIR with 6m to 60m detection distance, infrared sensor or Microwave sensor, wall mounted or ceiling mounted. It should be correctly chosen according to protection space, intrusion routine characteristics, environment features.
2.Debugging
Debugging is absolutely necessary work after installing of motion sensor. There are two ways for debugging. One way is walking test. The test person walks in the protected area with S routine to check the protected area. The microwave sensor sensitivity and PIR sensor sensitivity should be adjusted separately. Sometimes the sensitivity should be adjusted again in different season. Microwave has penetrability and the sensitivity can not be set too high.
Another way is using instrument to measure. Some detector has noise voltage output interface. Using a multiple meter to measure the noise voltage and adjust the sensitivity.
Is Burglar Alarm System useless?
A survey of housing safety said burglar alarm system is useless. A good lock and scheduled house lighting is more important for home security. Is that right? Will theft pass a well locked and light house without thinking it is occupied or empty?

The principle of making home security solution.

Cons: The balcony security protection is not enough. The theft can enter into balcony without alarm going off. It alarms until theft goes into the house.
4.High grade type installation:
Use infrared fence as balcony and windows intrusion prevention security equipment. The infrared fence is installed outdoor and can stop intrusion outdoor. Smoke detectors and gas leakage sensors are used as well for fire prevention.

Natural gas, LPG is used for home cooking, heating. But the gas is with dangers if it is not used properly. So, people should know how to use the gas source correctly. A gas detector is not enough for home gas security. A connected solenoid valve is better for gas source leakage shut off.
What should we do if gas leakage is detected? The fire fighting person said:”When we are at gas leakage spot, we even dare not kick the door or knock, smash with a metal tool. Because that may produce spark and detonate gas.” We should remember what we must not do at gas leakage spot.

5、Do you need a tool to calibrate the transmitter and receiver beams?
Laser pointer is used for calibration of detection distance exceed 50 meter. HB-T001Q3+ has built-in calibrator already.
- Infrared grating series: no need laser pointer, because the infrared distance is only 10m , you just need make sure the grating be installed in the same horizontal and vertical plane.
- Garden Light&Detector series:no need laser pointer, because the infrared distance is only 20m-50m , you just need make sure the Detector be installed in the same horizontal and vertical plane.

The lifespan of the battery is more than 10 years.Firstly,Our battery is LFP battery ,its cycle recharge time is 2000 times.Secondly,the capacity of the battery is 500mAh, while standby current consume only 0.5mAh,the sensors can normally work more than 15days without solar charging. So we can got: 2000times (LFP battery cycle recharge time)X15days(standby time)=30000days(about 82 years),deduct any other factors,10 years is available.
8、Please tell me more about perimeter defense. If total fence length to protect is 2800 meters, how many pairs beams are needed?
The working principle of our sensors is the same as wired sensor. One pair beams is needed for every 100 meter. If there is corner or wall is not straight, then add more beams.
Remarks: If wireless distance between sensor and host unit exceed 3km,Signal Repeater (HB-ZFQ) is suggested, one Repeater can enlarge wireless distance 3km,currently we support 4 grades, that’s say we can use 4 ZFQ without signal interference, and wireless distance:4-levels transmission X1km/grade=4000m.so more larger defense area is realized.
9、Does the beam system work at days without sunshine, like UK climate?
Firstly, Our solar panel is made of amorphous material. It can convert light to electric even in cloudy or rainy days,without any direct sunshine. While at rainy days ,the solar panel can generate 2mA current to the battery .
Secondly, the static power of our sensors is only 1% of traditional wired
sensor(static power:0.5mA).Besides:the sensors have high-capacity LFP battery inside,can keep the sensors working much more than 15 days without charging.
10、What is the extension of the wireless signal of the signal repeater HB-ZFQ?
Without any obstruction, one transponder can enlarge 3KM wireless distance. Currently we support 4 grades transmission, that’s say we can use 4 ZFQ without signal interference. wireless distance:4 grades transmission X3km/grade=12KM.
11、Is there a signal repeater HB-ZFQ with solar panel?
For the moment, we don’t have solar wireless signal repeater.If that’s necessary to your project, we’ll provide a solar powered device for the repeater.
12、Also please confirm if the wireless link is one way or duplex?
Our wireless link is one way, that is to say sensors transmit wireless signal to host , but host cant send signal to control the sensors. While our sensors will self-check every 2 minutes, if any problem (e.g. low-battery、invalid、light interference etc.) ,Sensors will immediately report to host.
13、What is the mechanism your system uses in order to detect stealing of sensors or jammer the signal in order to tamper the system?
Firstly, the working principle of our sensors is Active infrared detecting, so if any terminal is moved or damaged, sensors will report to host at once. Same time,host will indicate abnormity (e.g. alarming ,invalid , light interference).
Secondly ,the wireless transmission technology we made is FSK + FHSS technology,it has strong ability to anti-interference.( e.g. once sensor was Triggered), it will send 3 signals to host (3 different frequency points),and host can receive these signals independently. 14、Do they check status with the sensors , like a test signal? How often?
Our solar sensors will self-check every 2 minutes, if any problem (e.g. low-battery、invalid、 light interference etc.) ,Sensors will immediately report to host.

21、But I’m wondering if the sensibility could be adjusted?
Most of our sensors’ sensitivity can be adjusted by customers. Kindly attention that unusual sensitivity will result in false alarm, such as free falling object. Adjust sensors’ sensitivity as follows:

22、What happens if a bee, or a bird passes through the IR-fence?Bee or bird flying cant trigger the sensor?
Bee of Bird flying will not trigger the sensors
Firstly, if obstacle freely falls and pass through defense area, sensors will not alarm.
Secondly, if 3 infrared holes can’t completely blocked by material, sensors will not alarm.
So, compared with other sensors,our products more effective in reducing false alarm.
23、The IR beams works at 433 MHz?, Could work with other alarms also at 433MHz, or only with your alarm host?

Moreover, the code modulation of our detectors is private protocol, so the detectors are hardly directly match up with third-party 433Mhz alarm host.But we have two ways to contact with third party host.
Firstly ,we have switch outputs adapter to convert wireless signal to wired signal to third-party host(on condition that third-party host has wired zones)
Secondly, Send detailed technical parameters of your host to us,we’ll adjust our sensors and pair with your host ,need to mention that will reduce wireless distance and anti-interference function.
How to clean Smoke Detector
Smoke Detector is essential component of fire security alarm system. It can sense smoke and if the smoke density reaches to set value, it triggers alarm.
According to the fire department regulation, the smoke detector should be cleaned at least once every 3 years. Because the using environment is with dust and oil in the air. The dust and oil will cover on the smoke detector and even infiltrate into the sensor part of the smoke detector. If the smoke sensor is covered by dust or oil, the sensitivity will change and it can not accurately detects smoke of fire.
Smoke detector is designed with dust proof such as with dust cover and with labyrinth chamber. But cleaning of the smoke detector is necessary as well. The cleaning work can be done regularly by professional cleaning department with ultrasonic cleaner.
For family smoke detector or not very dirty environment used smoke detector, it can be cleaned easy by vacuum cleaner. Below we will introduce the steps of smoke detector cleaning by vacuum.
- Notify the proper authorities of smoke detector maintenance and disable the zone.
- Remove the sensor to be cleaned from the system.
- Remove the sensor cover by pressing firmly on each of the four removals tabs that hold the cover in place.
- Vacuum the screen carefully without removing it. If further cleaning is needed, continue with step. 5, otherwise skip to step 7.
- Remove the chamber cover/screen assembly by pulling it straight out.
- Use a vacuum cleaner or compressed air to remove dust and debris from the sensing chamber.
- Reinstall the chamber cover/screen assembly by sliding the edge over the sensing chamber. Turn until it is firmly in place.
- Replace the cover using the LEDs to align the cover and then gently pushing it until it locks into place.
- Reinstall the detector
- Test the detector as described in testing of manual.
- Reconnect disabled circuits.

Professional Security System installation standards
The Security System Installation is technical task. Always the trained electronic engineers, alarm system installers are responsible for the work. There are detailed standards for reference from electronic security association, security industry alarm coalition and so on. In some countries, only licensed security system installers can do the work. Anyway, it is better to get some knowledge of security system installation and DIY home security or offer security service at professional way.
Indoor wiring technology
The indoor wiring should be safe and reliable. The wiring layout should be reasonable. The wiring should be neatly arranged and the installation is secured. Specified requirement is as below:
Wire requirement: The wire rated voltage should be greater than working voltage. The wire insulation should be consistent with the installation method and environment. Wire cross-sectional area should be able to meet the power supply and mechanical strength requirements.
Wiring requirement: Avoid using connector for wiring, if it can not be avoided, then the connector must be crimped or soldered. The wire connections and branches should not be subjected to mechanical forces.
The wiring in building should keep horizontal or vertical. Protection casing should be added for the wiring (Plastic or pipes, according to the technical requirements of indoor wiring optional). Metal hose can be used for wiring under ceiling, but it should be fixed and safe.
Signal wire and power wire can not be in the same tube. It is best not putting them in parallel. If have to put them in parallel, then there should be more than 50CM distance between each other.
The AC power wire of the alarm control box should not be put in the same pipe of signal or DC power wires. It should be wired separately. The installation of the AC power wire should comply with the electrical installation standard.
The wiring from the alarm control box to the ceiling should buried in the wall with casing or with hot iron pipes. So as to improve anti-sabotage performance of the anti-theft security system.
Indoor piping technical requirements
There are two types indoor piping: outfit and concealed. Outfit piping requires horizontal or vertical, neatly arranged. Concealed piping requirements pipeline short, smooth and with less elbows.
Choosing pipeline according to the design drawing. If there is no specified requirement, then calculate the total area of the traversed wire (with skin), it should not be more than 70% of the inner hole cross-sectional area of the pipeline to be selected.
In order to facilitate the threading and maintenance of the pipe, when the pipe length exceeds the following values, the junction box or cable box should be added in the middle of the tube for easy threading.
(1) No bending, add at length of 40 meters.
(2) With a bend, add at length of 25 meters.
(3) With two bends, add at length of 15 meters.
(4)With three bends, add at length of 10 meters
Fixing the pipeline: Fixed clamps should be added at corner of the pipeline or every 1.5 meters of the straight pipeline.
The pipeline bending radius should be consistent with the provisions of the the traversed wire bending radius. Pipelines with trachoma, cracks and large deformations are forbidden to be used in wiring works. Casing or buckle should be added for pipelines’ connection.
For vertical laying pipeline, fixed threading junction box should be added every 10-20 meters according to the size of the cross-section of the wire. The thicker the wire, the shorter the distance. Then use insulated wire clip to fix the wire in the box.
For vertical nozzle without putting into the box, it should be sealed after threading of the wire.
Terminal box or junction box should be fixed with not less than three screws. Screw adapters should be added for connections of connection box and pipe. Terminal box and Junction box should be covered with case. Sub-line box should be added at branches of pipelines.
Installation of IR detectors
IR detectors or Motion sensors should be installed according to the manual. It should has 24 hours tamper-resistance function. It should not be installed at places where the mouse or other small animals can reach. The motion sensors should be installed at strong and not easy to vibrate wall and fixed with 2-3 screws. There should not be with obstacle at its detection area.
Installation of Magnetic switch
Magnetic switch should be installed firmly and neatly. It is best to be embedded in door to avoid destroy. The distance between the fixed component and the movable component of the magnetic switch should be less than the following values.
- Less than 5mm for wooden door and iron door magnetic contact
- Less than 20mm for rolling door magnetic contact
Installation requirement for Control Box
The security system control box should be installed according to manual.
Not less than 3 screws should be used to fix the security system box. It should be installed at hidden place to avoid destroy. The security system should be operated by remote keypad. The keypad should be installed far from the security system box and with tamper-resistant function, protected by magnetic switch. The keypad should be with password and with function of triggering alarm after 3 times wrong passwords input.
The security system box is with tamper-resistant function.
AC power supply for the security system box should not with switch. If switch has to be used, then it should be put inside the security system box. Security system box AC power supply wire should be threaded into tube independently without signal wire or other wires together.
The wiring from security system box to the ceiling should be protected by iron tube and double nut is used to connect the control box and iron tube.
Power supply box should be installed higher than 2 meter above the ground and installed firmly, secured.
